• This Social Work Masters Program was the Cohort That Preceded Opening of Florida Gulf Coast University. Study Included Family Systems Theory and an Analysis of Risk Assessment Among A Small Contingent of Florida Department of Children and Families Protective Services Workers. the Research Focused on Assessment and Recommendations That Followed Viewing of A Dcf Training Video Which Showed Interviews of A Fictitious Family. the Investigators Resultant Recommendations Fell Into Three Distinct Actions: 1) One Third would Find the Fictitious Family Caused Harm to A Child Necessitating Removal of the Child. 2) One Third would Find the Family was at Risk and Needed Additional Services Added to Ensure the Child'S Safety Within the Home. 3) the Final Third would Take no Action. This Small Study Seemed to Indicate A Family'S Service Outcome Depended Largely Upon Which Worker the Family was Assigned.
