• Activities and Societies: Phi Beta Kappa, Amherst College Choral Society, Zumbyesi Began MY Liberal Arts Education with Coursework in Mathematics, Economics, German Language, Chemistry and Comparative Literature. at the End of MY Second Year i Declared A Major in Economics. Subsequent to That and Following A Semester of Study in Germany, i Declared A Second Major in German Literature. in MY Final Semesters at Amherst, While Completing MY Double Major, i did Coursework in Music History and European Cultural History as i Contemplated Entering A Phd Program in Musicology. In Addition to MY Academic Pursuits at Amherst, i was Very Active in Musical Performance, Studying Classical Voice, Piano, Singing in Various Groups of the Amherst Choral Society, and Traveling the Northeast Extensively as A Four-Year Member of the College'S Award-Winning All-Male A Cappella Vocal Group, the Zumbyes.
• i was Awarded the Rufus B. Kellogg and Edward Poole Lay Fellowships from Amherst College to Undertake Post-Baccalaureate Studies in Germany as i Explored MY Interest in Pursuing A Phd in Musicology at an American University. I was Granted Admission to Three German Universities and Matriculated as A Magistar (Masters) Candidate at the Free University of Berlin to Study with Two Specific Professors Specializing in Opera History. i Also Completed Other Pre-Requisites for Doctoral Study in Musicology, Including Music Theory and Italian Language. In MY Fourth Semester of Studies in Berlin, i was Invited to Complete an Internship at the Deutsche Oper Under its Artistic Director, GöTz Friedrich. i was SO Inspired by This Experience That i Decided to Focus MY Attention on A Career at A Performing Arts Organization, Rather Than Academia. the Fellowship Afforded ME Connections to International Opera Companies and Led to MY Hiring at the Santa FE Opera.
