Among Interesting Topics i Explored were the Use of “Proxy Species” When A Particular Taxon was not Found in One or More Depositional Environments, and the Pervasiveness of Diagenetic Micro-Environments in Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Sediments. Important Indirect Findings Resulted in the Conclusive Determination of the Origin of the Moseley Limestone “Conglomerate” of H.B. Stenzel as an Exhumed, Diagenetically-Formed Seafloor Hardground Surface. I Also Used X-Ray Diffraction to Resolve the Identity of A Green Marine Clay Component of the Cook Mountain/Crockett Transgression. This Resulted in the (Then) Oldest Known Occurrence of the Mineral Odinite in the Fossil Record, Which had Important Implications in Understanding the Environments of Deposition and Geochemistry of the Sediments.
