• MY Senior Design Project Team Consisted of Engineering Students from Several Disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing/Robotics, Etc…). WE were Tasked to Develop A “Fifth Wheel Calibration Test Stand” for A Local Automotive Testing Company. A “Fifth Wheel” is A Device Using Either Mechanical (Bicycle-Like Wheel) or Optical Method of Accurately Measuring the Relationship Between Time and Distance in A Non-Linear Calculation. This Device Precisely Measures the Acceleration of A Vehicle. WE Developed A Test Stand Consisting of A Very Large Servo Motor, A Mechanically Optimized Flywheel, Controller, and Data Acquisition (Dac) Software for Both Mechanical and Optical Methods of Calibration. the Mechanically Optimized Flywheel was Developed in Conjunction with Several Mechanical Finite Element Analyses (Fea) to Withstand the Tremendous Acceleration and Speed Needed to Replicate the Physics of an Actual Automobile.
• Activities and Societies: i Started Rochester Institute of Technology (Rit) with A Focus in Electrical Engineering. After A Year, i Decided That i was More Interested in Industrial Technology Curriculum (Robotics, Software, and Manufacturing Processes). i Then Transferred to Lake Superior State University in Michigan Where Most of the Big Automotive Companies Reside.
