• Activities and Societies: Golden Key Honour Society, Research Team Member, Midwestern Conference for Professional Psychology, Mnsu First Annual Graduate Research Conferencemy Thesis Evaluated Social Comparison Behaviors in A Clinical Population of Women in Residential Treatment for an Eating Disorder, and A College Population of Women Classified as Symptomatic or Asymptomatic. the Purpose was to Determine Whether Discrepancies in Social Comparison Behaviors Among the Three Groups were Present. Participants Completed A Series of Questionnaires Evaluating the Frequency, Direction, Targets, and Motivation for Comparing. Findings Indicated That Clinical and Symptomatic Women were More Prone to Engage in Social Comparisons--Motivated by Self-Evaluation, Directed Upward, Targeted at Thin-Ideal Peers, and at A Higher Frequency. Results Pertaining to Research and Practice are Discussed.
