• Activities and Societies: Mars Society As A Consequence of MY Research and Field Activities, During MY Phd i was Regularly Interviewed by Both Local and International Media, A Live-Tv Commentator for the Canadian Television Network (Ctv) During the Mars Polar Lander Mission, an Op-Ed Contributor to the Globe and Mail and Maclean'S Magazines, A Two-Time Speaker at the Ideacity Conference (2003, 2004), and A Focus of Several Mars Exploration Related Documentaries.My Research Focus was on Understanding the Rate of Climate Change During the Holocene (~Last 10,000 Years) and the Impact of Human Activities on Pristine Polar Environments. i Spent Several Field Seasons Throughout the Canadian High Arctic and the Antarctic Examining Polar Lakes and Ponds, and Collecting Samples from These Sites in an Effort to Characterize the Impact of Climate Change on These Freshwater Systems. Through MY Involvement with Nasa Collaborators and the Mars Society During MY Phd, i was Also Able to Extend MY Research in the Arctic to Include Human Exploration Research Focused on Sending Humans to Mars. i was Part of the Inaugural Crew That Both Built and Inhabited the World'S First Mars Simulation Base - the Mars Society'S Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (Fmars) - and Part of the Nasa Haughton Mars Project (Hmp) - A Team of Scientists and Engineers Studying Human Operational Concepts for Future Human Mars Missions.
