• i was Awarded A Fellowship by UT Austin for the Casa Program, the Top-Level Arabic Studies Program for American Students, Which was Run at the University of Damascus, the Top University in Syria. the Program Included A Full-Year of Intensive Arabic Language Study Including Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha), Syrian Dialect, Literature, and Independent Projects. I Completed an Arabic Language Research Project on the Declining Importance of Radio in Damascus Relying on Primary Research with Syrian Academics, Experts, and Radio Personalities. I Translated A Film Script from Arabic to English for Award Winning Syrian Filmmaker Mohammad Malas.
• i Completed Two Programs, the Summer Program and the Full-Year Program. I Studied A Variety of Subject Areas in Arabic Including Arab History, Politics, Classical and Modern Literature, Poetry, Media Studies, Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha), and the Syrian Dialect Under the Instruction of Major Figures in Syrian Academia.
• Activities and Societies: in the Tufts Association of South Asians i Served as Writer, Technical Director, and Lead Performer for Two Annual Cultural Shows. i Also Wrote Film Criticism for the Tufts Daily, the Largest Student Newspaper, as A Staff Writer. i Worked as A Research Assistant in the Psychology Department'S Probabilistic Reasoning Lab Where i Helped Run Experiments with Human Subjects and Completed Data Analysis. i Also Worked as an Academic Resource Center Tutor for Arabic, Writing, and Sociology.I Graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa and Earned A Place on the Dean'S List Every Semester. I was the Recipient of the Priscilla N.
