• Thesis: Contributes to the Operationalization of Facial Emotion Signal Clarity by Attending to Overall Intensity of the Display, and Presence or Absence of Specific Actions of Facial Muscles, Described as Action Units (Aus; Ekman and Friesen, 1978) Using the Facial Action Coding System (Ekman and Friesen, 1978). A Signal Clarity Value was Calculated for Each Expression, Using Signal Clarity Formula (Matsumoto, Olide, Schung, ET Al., 2009), Based on the Presence or Absence of Critical Aus and Extraneous Aus. Results Showed That the More Critical Aus Present, the Higher the Signal Clarity of Anger and Fear Expressions. Extraneous Aus did not Decrease the Overall Signal Clarity of the Expressions; However Certain Extraneous Aus Enhanced Signal Clarity, Introducing the New Concept of Enhancement Aus. MY Research Placed at the San Francisco State University Research Competition. at the State-Wide Competition, i was Awarded Second Prize in the Behavior and Social Science Division.
• in 2007, i was Awarded A One-Year Fellowship at Kokushikan University in Tokyo, Japan. i was the First American to Attend That University. i Adapted Well to MY Environment and i am Now Skilled in the Japanese Language. While in Japan, i Experienced the Traditional Culture Through Homestays in Metropolitan and Rural Areas. Being Totally Emersed, i Learned Japanese Quickly and i Now have an Extensive Network in Japan.
• i Conducted MY Senior Thesis on the Concept of Schema Theory. That Study was Titled: &Quot;The Role of Schemata in Memory for Places Revisited&Quot;. in That Experiment i Replicated W.F. Brewer and J.C. Treyens' 1981 Experiment on the Role of Schemata and Memory Performance.
