• Activities and Societies: Student Judiciary Committee; Student Adviser at the Study Abroad Officei Started Out as A Computer Science Major but Quickly Realized That Despite the Fact That i was Very Interested in Computers and Technology, not to Mention Decent at Coding, That the Lack of Human Interaction did not Appeal to Me. i Switched to Political Science After Taking an Amazing Course with Professor James Eisenstein. i Then Spent A Semester Studying Abroad in Seville, Spain in MY Junior Year Which was an Amazing Experience! Coming Back to State College i Realized That i was Also Interested in A Couple of Other Areas of Study and Using the Courses i had Already Taken and Adding A Few Others in MY Senior Year i was Able to Complete 3 Additional Minor Areas of Concentration in Addition to MY Major Focus in Political Science. i Obtained A Minor in Spanish, A Minor in International Studies, and A Minor in Economics. i Also Served on the Student Judiciary Committee and Volunteered as A Peer Adviser at the Office of International Studies, Both of Which were Very Rewarding Experiences.
• Activities and Societies: Kappa Delta PI - International Honor Society in Educationsocial Studies Education, M.S.Ed. The Master of Science in Education Program in Social Studies Education is A 37-S.H. Program That Requires an Undergraduate Major or Equivalent (With A Minimum of 30 S.H.) in Either History or One of the Social Sciences (Economics, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, or Anthropology). the Course of Study Leads to New York State Initial Teacher Certification, Social Studies Grades 7-12. This Program is Designed to Blend On-Campus Preparation with Field Experiences in A Variety of School Settings, Culminating in Full-Time Student Teaching. Literacy, Multicultural Education, and Information Technology are Integrated Throughout All Aspects of the Program. the Program Conforms with the New York State Learning Standards in Social Studies and with the Recommendations for Teacher Preparation of the National Council for the Social Studies.
