Major: Human Services-Mental Health Counseling-Completed 68 Credit Hours and Maintained A 3.647 Gpa the Focus of MY Study has Been Holistic Community Focused Programs to Help Those with Profound Mental Illness and Homelessness. i Voluntarily Withdrew After i Became Ill and Couldn'T Focus on the Work i Needed to do Before MY Final Internships.I was Working as A Full Time Addictions Counselor While Attending Capella SO i was Able to Apply MY Education Directly as i Worked with MY Clients, MY Peers, and Other Social Service Agencies in MY Community. I was Hoping to Expand on MY Research in Homelessness/Mentally Ill When i had to Suspend MY Work and MY Studies Due to Health Issues.
• Activities and Societies: i Worked as A Volunteer at the Addictions Recovery Center, Inc. When i Wasn'T in School, i Later Worked as Support Staff, Than Became A Counselor When i Graduated.My Focus was on Program Development for the Sub Population of Homeless That Present with Chronic Mental Illness. I was Also Active in Women'S Studies as A Result of MY Studies in Sociology, and Domestic Violence, and Seeing Too Much Violence Occuring Around ME and the Lack of Recourse for Survivors.
