• Activities and Societies: Favorite Activity as A Volunteer: I Supported the Start-Up of A Student Food Co-Op to Bring Quality Bulk Foods for Sale on Campus. My Favorite Hobby: At Caffè Med i Began MY Love for A Great Cafe Latte (While Doing MY Homework), Which Led ME to and Unexpected Career. After Graduation i Began Working and Managing in A Few Different Coffee Shops and Cafes, and Finally Co-Created A Breakfast and Lunch Restaurant in Downtown Berkeley Which i Managed for Several Years.I Began MY Time at UC Berkeley with the Goal of Completing A BA in Psychology and Continuing to Become an Elementary School Teacher. but During MY First Quarter at Cal While Taking an Introduction to Linguistics Class, i Became Intrigued by This Dynamic Filed of Study. i was Captivated by the Idea That the Languages That WE Speaks Change the Way WE See and Understand the World Around Us. Luckily, i was Lucky to be Able to Blend MY Major to Fit MY Interests. Although i Studied French and American Sign Language, i Learned More About Language and Second Language Learning Than Actually Learning A Second Language. i Deeply Admire Anyone That is Fluent in Multiple Languages. Even Though i Didn'T Continue in the Filed of Formal Education, i have Always Enjoy Teaching in Different Settings, and was Able to Teach Many Massage Classes Over the Years. I Especially Enjoy Watching (And Helping) Toddlers as They Learn and Use Language to Help Them Understand the World Around Them.
