• Activities and Societies: Vagantes 2012 Planning Committee, Finance Committe Chair Medieval Studies Institute Graduate Advisory Committee, 2010-Presentat Indiana University, i Started Off with the Objective of Getting on the World-Famous Operatic Tenor Track. i Sang in Multiple Ensembles and Operatic Productions, and had A Lot of Fun, but Ultimately Realized That i was More of an Academic Who Liked to Sing Than A Singer Who Liked to Read. As A Graduate Student, i Studied Ancient and Modern Greek, Latin, Syriac, and Arabic, Specializing in Byzantine History. i was Also Continuing as A Working Church Musician in the Greek Orthodox Church, and This Gave ME A Particular Eye for Liturgical Detail in Historical Contexts. While Going Through MY Graduate Coursework, i Organized Multiple Public Educational Events Centered on Church Music, and i Decided That, in MY Spare Time, i Needed to Found A Non-Profit Organization That Specialized in Exactly That Activity. My Last Year in Residence at Indiana University, i was Awarded the Wells Graduate Fellowship, the Most Prestigious Graduate Academic Award Bestowed by the University.
