• i Went on MY First Deep-Sea Research Cruise the First Month i was at Amherst. During the First Two Years i Completed Necessary Undergraduate Geology Courses and Worked at A Wetland Mapping Unit in the Forestry Department and Spent A Summer Working on A Fish Ladder, Catching Migrating Atlantic Salmon for A Restoration Project. in 1991, Having Completed All Necessary Coursework, i Moved to Rochester. in 1993 i Joined Odp Leg 154, Which Gave ME the Material and Funding to Complete MY Dissertation.
• i was A Ph.D. Student and Completed A Coursework Master'S by Passing Two Qualifying Exams in A Major (Ecology and Evolution) and A Minor (Molecular Biology and Biochemistry). MY Advisors were A Vertebrate Paleontologist, A Structural Geologist and A Paleoecologist/Palynologist. Thus Influenced i Decided to Pursue A Ph.D. in Geology Instead.
• Activities and Societies: Editor, Northern Light Magazine Member, Students for Environmental Action Slu Provided ME with A Good Liberal Arts Education. i was Able to Pursue MY Interests in Both the Humanities and the Sciences. in MY Junior Year i Spent the Spring Semester in Copenhagen, an Eye-Opening Experience That Certainly Changed the Rest of MY Life.
