• Through Practicum Research and Experience, MY Goal was to Focus on Prenatal Care Amongst Socially Economic Disadvantaged Populations. MY Aim was to Educate Women on the Importance of Prenatal Care and Breastfeeding as it Helps to Ensure A Healthy Pregnancy for the Woman and Monitors the Ongoing Health of the Unborn Child. Breast Milk is Packed with Disease Fighting Vitamins and Nutrients That are Essential for the First Six Months of an Infants Life. Yet, Living in Populations That are Considered to be Underserved, Such as Ward 5,7, and 8, Mothers are Often Faced with Limitations/ Barriers to Receiving Optimal Prenatal Care and Lack the Desire to Prolong Breastfeeding.Through Survey and Research, MY Goal was to Further to Determine the Barriers Faced by Each Mother and Learn How to Better Support Breastfeeding Moms to do SO Successfully at Least Until the Infant is Six Months. as A Result, the Barriers were Identified and the Importance of Health Literacy Became Even More Essential.
