• i did Extensive Research and Wrote A Scientific Critical Analysis of the New $1 Billion Desalination Plant Which Just Opened in Carlsbad, San Diego County, California. it is the Largest Desalination Plant in the United States. the Plant Uses the Encina Power Station'S Open Intake Pipes to Extract 100 Million Gallons of Seawater Each Day and Turn That Into 50 Million Gallons of Potable Water for County Residents. the Desalinated Water Goes to the San Diego Water Authority Where it is Mixed with Water from Other Sources. the Desalinated Water Provides About 7% of the Total Water Mix for the County. Desalination is Highly Controversial with Environmental Groups Which Charge That it Destroys Marine Ecosystems and Creates A Huge Carbon Footprint with its Use of Electricity.
