• in Beaumont'S Oncology Rehabilitation Residency i had the Opportunity to Learn and Practice Oncology Physical Therapy Across Various Settings in the Hospital IE Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Lymphedema. in This Residency i Gained Practice with the Major Cancer Diagnoses (Breast, Prostate, Lung) in Both the Rehabilitation Setting as Well as in Observation and Participation in Tumor Boards, Multidisciplinary Clinics, and Survivorship Clinics. Throughout This Process, i Continued Implementing MY Learning Into MY Daily Practice in Outpatient Lymphedema and Oncology Physical Therapy. at the End of the Residency, i Presented MY Capstone Project Titled &Quot;Advanced Cancer in A Geriatric Athlete: A Case Report&Quot;.
• Activities and Societies: -Apta Member Since 2013, Mpta Student Conclave 2013, Combined Sections Meeting 2015, Mpta Student Conclave 2015 -Continuing Education: Spectrum Health Neurosciences Symposium (Grand Rapids, may 2015), CP Research Consortium of Michigan Conference (Ann Arbor, March 2015), Advanced Topics: Neurologic Physical Therapy Course Audit (Grand Rapids, Jan-April 2015), Introductory Vestibular Rehabilitation: Evaluation and Treatment (Grand Rapids, March 2014)Throughout the Three Year Physical Therapy Program i had A Great Opportunity to Complete Pro-Bono Work Throughout the Grand Rapids Area. First, i Volunteered Multiple Times in an Exercise Class for Community Members with Parkinson'S Disease Where Volunteers Joined in the Class Exercises and Helped Ensure the Safety of the Class Participants During Standing Balance Activities. Secondly, i Participated in Our Pro-Bono Clinics to Evaluate Musculoskeletal Impairments and Provide Exercises and Education for Individuals Who could not Afford Physical Therapy Services Otherwise. Third, i had the Opportunity to Work with Two Women in Their Respective Homes, One Who Suffered A Traumatic Brain Injury 30 Years Prior and the Other Who was Diagnosed with A Progressive Course of Multiple Sclerosis. These Opportunities, in Addition to the Five Required Clinical Education Opportunities have Shaped ME Into A Passionate Patient Advocate, Ready to Become A Full Time Clinician.
